Arthur's Dark Eldar 'Raiderless' Raiders 500pts for Phase 1

Arthur used a cool font. Blogger didn't like it.

Dark Eldar Raiders
When I chose to do Dark Eldar I decided to use the Realspace Raider detatchment (shown below) in order to creatw a more thematic list. Although the need to take a fast attack choice as a compulsory slot was difficult in my initial 500pts, I believe that Dark Eldar will benefit more from the extra fast attack choices than would be gained by the objective secured special rule. The idea for the army was that this force of Black Heart Kabailites was ordered by Vect to aquire Necron psychic dampening technology to further secure the Gate of Khaine in Commoragh.  Learning from sources among the Craftworld Eldar that an as yet unawakened Tomb World was located in the Alverak system my Archon, Known in Commoragh only as Vect’s Fool, took his forces there to begin his search.
As my HQ choice I chose an Archon; although a succubus is better in combat and a Haemonculus grants benefits to his unit the Archon is more characterful for a force made up of mainly kabalites. Unfortunately because the minimum size of trueborn is now 5 the choice was either to put him on his own in a Venom or have him foot slog it across the battlefield. No Archon of mine will walk while his troops fly so a Venom for him it was. The two troops are both 5 man squads of kabalites mounted on Venoms with 2 splinter cannons each. The fast attack is a unit of Scourges with 4 haywire blasters for some anti-armour; although I am sure that they will never hit anything let alone kill an opposing tank.
So without further ado here is the List: (Actually it's pictures, nice try!- Chris)

1 Archon; Vect’s Fool – 60 pts
Armed with the Parasites Kiss – 5 pts
Mounted  on a Venom with upgraded Splinter Cannon – 65 pts

(X2)   5 Kabalite Warriors – 40 pts
Mounted on a Venom with upgraded splinter cannon – 65 pts

5 Scourges – 80 pts
4 Haywire blasters – 40 pts

For a grand total of 500 pts.
The plan is stay as far away from the enemy as possible until any transports are gone, then make it rain splinter fire.
Pray I don’t take you alive

(Insert best evil laugh)
(NB. Arthur's most evil laughs may include vomiting on the nearby bags of those who have caused his laughter. You have been warned. No I haven't forgiven you. - Chris)

Bailey's Ethereal Tau 500pts list for Phase 1

Bailey is a no nonsense kind of chap who cares nothing for background or pictures and has no time for such having dedicated his life to 'study' and its assorted delights. They are a delightful (to khorne) shade of red that look suspiciously like farsight enclave but without the douchebaggery of that supplements rules. Thanks Bailey. (Additional... Bailey has supplied pictures!)

David Dave's 'Clusterfuck' Inquisition-Astra Militarum-Tempestus Scions failure to choose an army 500pts phase one list

500 Points Inquisition force

And a little from DD himself:

Along with my list I wanted to share a few thoughts and discussions that occurred within our play group when designing the army.

The first thing you may have noticed is that the list above is not actually a legal battle forged army. We debated long and hard on what an Inquisition force would actually look like since Games Workshop helpfully removed the Inquisitional Stormtrooper rules from the game with Codex Inquisition.

Initially I was simply going to use the Astra Militarum book with a company command squad representing my Inquisitors interrogator and his retinue with veterans in carapace armour as the troops choices. At the first points jump I would grab a detachment from the actual Inquisition codex consisting of the Inquisitor himself and a henchman unit. The main problem with this list is that we would end up with two incredibly similar armies at 500 points with Chris himself playing Imperial Guard, it also had the weird feeling of an Inquisition army that starts out without having an Inquisitor.

So I went back to the drawing board and after some discussion we simply let the Inquisitor take the place of the mandatory HQ choice in the army. We still had 2 very similar armies so to represent the elite nature of Inquisitorial Stormtroopers I switched to the Scion units, technically now using the Militarum Tempestus book. This however was going to run into problems both due to my dislike of the Taurox and further up the line when I wanted to include a variation of units rather then just spamming Scions forever so we decided to just pretend scions are a Troops choice for me resulting in the illegal clusterfuck you see above!

Going forward we are operating on the “don't be a Jerk” policy so I will be adding units under the careful eye of the rest of the gaming group :)

Tims Harlequins 500pts for Phase one

Tim is all about bringing pain and lets say "loose rule use" to the tabletop so no pics or background so far. Combat Patrol list to avoid the nonsense that the Harlequins list requires you to take.

Now with pics! (I've left the phone pic of the Death Jester because he came out a bit blurry in the board shots...)

Tom "Weedy" Weedon's Vostroyan 500 pts list for phase 1

In Tom's words:
This is the Vostroyan 37th Firstborn Regiment led by Colonel Vasili Denisov. He is a Firstborn son from one of the oldest and most respected families on Vostroya, and many of his Uncles are prominent members of the Techtriarch. The Techtriarch of Vostroya has always had a strong relationship with the Forgeworlds of the Segmentum Obscurus and as a result regularly see combat together. The Techtriarch have sent Denisov's 37th into the Alvarak System at the behest of the Forgeworld of Agripinaa. They have lost contact with a Skitarii force that were investigating a Relic and need the Vostroyans to find out what happened. They are far more disposable than any Skitarii warriors. If the Firstborn are successful then they can call in the might of the skitarii to assist them in recovering the relic for the betterment of the Imperium and the Mechanicum.

As you can see there is a little bit more painting to do, so I better hop to it.
